Where did it all go wrong for Irish Life and Permanent?

The big news today is that the Irish Life and Permanent Group has suspended its shares and looks like it is on its way into State Ownership. But over the last few years we have been told that they were OK because they did not get involved with Property Developers and risky Commercial Loans.
