Following on from their announcement to provide homebuyers with mortgages for Nama properties, Nama have now released a list of their properties that are in the hands of receivers and are now up for sale.
There has been allot of speculation in the last 12 months about how Nama would begin to offload its large property portfolio. In an article in today's Irish Independent the head of Nama, Frank Daly is quoted on his immediate plans to sell off some of Nama's residential property stock. In essence his plan is to offer hesitant home-buyers protection against negative equity.
A few weeks ago sources from Nama suggested that the state agency could get involved in mortgage lending. In the last few days the Nama CEO, Frank Daly fleshed out these rumblings by stating that Nama are currently in discussions with Bank of Ireland and AIB about making extra mortgage funding available......
